Oak Pond Mobile Home Park is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including residents and visitors who rely on screen readers, screen magnification, voice control, or keyboard-only navigation. Many of the people we serve are 55 and over, and accessible design is part of doing right by them.

The standard we work to

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as our benchmark. These are the internationally recognised standards for making web content perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. New pages, designs, and content are checked against them before they go live.

What we have done

  • Every image in our media library carries descriptive alternative text, so screen readers can describe what is on the page.
  • Pages use a single, meaningful top-level heading and a logical heading order.
  • Pinch-to-zoom is enabled on phones and tablets, so text can be enlarged without breaking the layout.
  • Links and buttons say where they go, and none of them lead to dead ends.
  • Colour and contrast are checked against the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum.
  • An accessibility toolbar is available on every page for adjusting contrast, text size, and spacing.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is not a one-time project. We test this site regularly with automated tools and by hand, and we fix what we find. Some third-party content we embed — such as the Google map on our contact page — is outside our direct control, and its accessibility depends on the provider. Where that happens, we make sure the same information is also available as plain text on the page.
